Before the revolution, the American colonists had a thriving life here in America, which incidentally was thousands of miles away from the presence of their governing King in England. Urbanization in the colonies was very low, the free economy was thriving, and work was plentiful and available to all that needed it. This led to an extremely low poverty rate among the colonies. What mad it even better was that the American colonists were also free to choose their own spiritual lifestyle, something that was not allowed in England at the time.
Also, there was also no titled aristocracy. In other words, there were no more made up titles and land issued to those"in the king's favor" (Sirs, Knights, Lords, Duchess, etc.). Life in the American colonies became in sharp contract to that In England, where only the privileged and aristocratic people generally owned land. Colonial free trade and prosperity brought all citizens into common relationships and made men equal to one another.
This new lifestyle created a wonderful harmony between social freedom, self-reliance and personal responsibility and sparked the ideas of freedom and independence, the seed of the American Revolution.
