Obama nominated Elena Kagan on On May 9, 2010, as a Supreme Court Judge. What???
If confirmed by the Senate, Kagan would be the first justice in nearly four decades without any prior experience as a judge!!!
Kagan has been a fixture in the anti-gun movement for her whole life. During her undergraduate college years, Kagan took strong interest in the Socialist Party. In her senior thesis titled "To the Final Conflict: Socialism in New York City, 1900-1933", she wrote, "Through its own internal feuding, then, the Socialist Party exhausted itself forever....The story is a sad but also a chastening one for those who, more than half a century after socialism's decline, still wish to change America."
Kagan is an extreme activist judge who will vote to destroy our right to keep and bear arms. Despite her total lack of experience, she has racked up countless offensives against the Second Amendment. Kagan conspired with Bill Clinton and tried to shut down gun shows and ban many semi-automatic firearms. She also compared the NRA with the Klu-Klux Clan - an irresponsible outrageous and inflammatory statement by any nominee.
By the way, what the heck does a Solicitor General do? The Solicitor General determines the legal position that the United States will take in the Supreme Court. In addition to supervising and conducting cases in which the government is a party, the Solicitor General's office also files amicus curiae briefs in cases in which the federal government has a significant interest in the legal issue. The Solicitor General's office argues on behalf of the government in virtually every case in which the United States is a party.
